Build It- The Project Manager is responsible for organizing and managing all process fabrication jobs from start to finish. Starting with ensuring an effective transition from sales to operations, the Project Manager will develop schedules, budgets and resource estimates working with all members of the team.  The Project Manager will then coordinate, direct and manage all the activities necessary to safely fabricate, install and start up each job. 

Own it- The Project Manager will also be responsible for ensuring the PRI Project Flow System is consistently followed and updated regularly. Other duties will be as assigned and will include safety, special projects and business process improvement.  This person must be organized, neat and be self-disciplined.

Key Responsibilities & Functions

  • Implement projects in accordance with the PRI Project Flow Process. Take ownership of the process and ensure it is followed and consistently optimized
  • Coordinate with Sales to ensure an effective hand off of projects to Operations
  • Manage on-site installation as required
  • Chart out project objectives, customer requirements, budgets and resource requirements
  • Coordinate directly with customers to ensure smooth flow of projects from design to install start-up, and service
  • Ensure optimal utilization of resources including labor, materials and equipment
  • Ensure safety is designed into the project plan and serve as a leader in the company to ensure safety is built into every project
  • Schedule, define, manage, and track all project task using the PRI Project Planning Process
  • Maintain detailed project documentation to include correspondence, change orders, budgets, schedules and customer acceptance documents
  • Ensure each project has an effective close out and transfer to Service
  • Create procedures, processes and work instructions as needed to ensure smooth operations and project flow; provide training when needed
  • Occasional travel to job sites, domestic and international, may be required to interface with customers and resolve key technical and contractual requirements
  • Plan, coordinate, and direct all subcontractor activates as required, including SOW/RFQ developments, and scope of work definition as well as planning, scheduling, and tracking of all tasks

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field
  • Five to Ten years of experience directly managing projects in a field related to biological sciences
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Good general project management practices including MS Project, Budgeting tools, resource management tools and others as required
  • Familiar with good manufacturing practices, biosafety levels, laboratory design, process and utility design and waste management
  • Specific experience in biological decontamination is strongly desired
  • Familiar with ISO, Lean Manufacturing, Lean Office principles and business process improvement
  • Hands on experience with design, fabrication, installation, and service of large process equipment
  • Understand process flow schematics, P&ID's
  • Ability for occasional travel domestic and international
