Build It-The Production Manager will plan, direct, or coordinate the work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing products in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications.

Own it-The Production Manager is accountable for all aspects of plant performance, and will ensure that objectives are attained in a cost-effective manner that's consistent with quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities & Functions

  • Production scheduling close coordination with the project managers to maintain a reliable production schedule. 
  • Resource planning work with project management, and others as needed to maintain and forecast needed resources. 
  • Manage the production budget, including project budgets and non-project related overhead expenses.  Bring visibility and planning to this effort.
  • Ensure health and safety objectives are met.  Lead the safety committee and commit to furthering the zero injury objectives. 
  • Resource management working closely with HR and the PRI University leaders, ensure that we have a trained, motivated and properly rewarded staff in the shop.  This would include making sure that we plan and execute effective performance management systems, reviews, discipline, attendance policy, etc. 
  • Training participate in and provide shop leadership to fully implement PRI University, a training program intended to ensure that we have the highest skilled work group in the area, capable of building our safety mission critical process systems. 
  • Oversee maintenance, repair and replacement of equipment feed into the capital plan and budgeting. 
  • Ensure that the necessary process documentation is in place including operating procedures, quality checks, safety documentation, etc.
  • Support and drive improvements in manufacturing controls, metrics development and optimization and ERP implementation
  • Supervise directly the shop superintendent, welding supervisor, maintenance department, safety coordinator, and others as required.  The shop will continue to be organized around the team lead program ensure these meetings are led effectively and productively. 

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of progressively increasing responsibilities in Manufacturing Management
  • Lean Manufacturing and process improvement leadership experience
  • Experience in a world class safety environment
  • Experience in managing budgets, metrics and reporting to management
  • Project Management and scheduling experience. 
  • Basic knowledge of welding procedures and practices
  • Fabrication and/or assembly experience is a plus

Physical Requirements

  • Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
  • Kneeling: Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
  • Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
  • Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
  • Standing: Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time.
  • Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to-position.
  • Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
  • Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
  • Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
  • Subject to inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
